Project Partners

ANCE is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation based in Athens, Greece. It was established in 1996 by a group of Greek experts in international development cooperation and technical assistance and today has succeeded to create an extensive network of collaborators and volunteers for the promotion of sustainable development and the support of vulnerable social groups in the European Union and the developing countries.
ANCE is collaborating with other non-governmental organisations, local development agencies, local authorities, Universities and research centres, and the private sector in EU and in the developing world for combating all kinds of racism, xenophobia, marginalisation and social exclusion, promoting democracy and human rights, environmental protection and preservation of the cultural heritage, poverty resuction, etc. It is a member of the Greek Forum “Alliance against Poverty” (GCAP), the Greek National Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation, the European Civic Forum (FCE).

Nexes
is an association from Catalonia, Spain that aims mainly to promote at local and international level dialogue and exchange among cultures, work for peace, transnational co-operation, social inclusion and active participation of young people in the building of our societies.
Working in non-formal education and experiential learning environments, Nexes organises and promotes training courses, workshops, youth exchanges, European Voluntary Service projects, Leonardo da Vinci vocational projects and other activities for young people and adults.
Nexes’ multicultural team is formed by youth workers, trainers and experts on European youth programmes, intercultural learning and human rights. The organisation cooperates with a wide range of public institutions, NGOs and companies and we are active in several networks both at local and international level.

XENA
is an Italian non-profit, cultural association for social promotion which was set up in the autumn of 1994. Its main objective is to increase and improve the level of contact and interaction amongst different cultures.
It promotes projects mainly within the frame of European Programmes – such as “Youth in Action” (i.e. “Youth for Europe”, “European Voluntary Service”), “Lifelong Learning” (i.e. “Leonardo da Vinci” and “Grundtvig”)   and others – with the following principal aims: promoting intercultural learning dynamics; preventing and combating racism and prejudices; to offer young people the opportunity to join mobility programmes; to promote the active participation of the youth in society.

Hangar Art Association was founded by a group of young people in October 2006 in Istanbul, Turkey. It started as a project funded by Future Capital Fund under the YOUTH Programme. The founders are aged from 25 to 35, experienced in managing projects on local, national and European levels. Hangar aims to bring young artists closer to different actors in the society and provide them a common platform for community focussed work. In addition Hangar seeks to open an independent cultural centre in Istanbul where the disadvantaged young artists can meet with people from different professions and realise joint art projects for urban development that can contribute to active citizenship and social integration.

BARAKA is a non-governmental, apolitical and non-profit youth organization based in Bucharest, Romania. The aim of the association is achieving social change through cultural programmes.  Baraka has been actively involved in realising information campaigns on human rights topics among Bucharest youth for more than 6 years in the framework of the project “Together. Human Rights Education for and with young people in Bucharest”. The organisation uses peer education and learning by doing in empowering young people to design their own campaigns, advocacy and lobby in order to ensure a human rights culture, with a strong youth participation.

OCSCD (The Orient Center for Studies and Cultural Dialogue) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization based in Amman, Jordania. It was established to promote inter-cultural dialogue and to take part in cultural and academic projects in cooperation with international organizations. OCSCD is dedicated to peaceful and democratic dialogue between cultures. It believes in human tolerance, moderation and respects to all cultures. The Center is a platform that aims to defend the principles of non-violence, democracy, political participation, human rights and civilizations’ dialogue, particularly in the Middle East by means of conferences, seminars, workshops, research studies, publications etc. The Center is dedicated to scholarly research and studies, which meet the highest academic standards on matters related to the Middle East in cultural, democratic and social fields. As a non-partisan and independent NGO forum, the OCSCD calls for tolerance, non-violence and peace among all peoples and nations. These principles provide the inspiration for the Center’s philosophy, as well as its activities today, at the dawn of the 21st century.

Project Hope (Humanitarian Opportunities for Peace and Education) is a Palestianian non-for profit volunteer organisation. Its goal is to provide a participatory, educational space for Palestinian youth and children. Committed to the principles of international humanitarian law and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, our aim is support children denied access to basic services by providing educational and recreational activities, medical and humanitarian relief and practical training that can empower them with hope and skills for the future. As refugee children and youth continue to fight for a brighter future, Project Hope also continues to run educational and recreational activities and give humanitarian aid in the refugee camps in the Nablus district.
